This is the primary means of notification in the event of an emergency at Vermont Yankee. If you do not have one, or if yours is inoperable, you can obtain one from your town Emergency Management Director or by completing a request card. If you are in need of a new battery(s) for your radio, a list of Emergency Alert System (EAS) radio stations, or instructions on radio use, please contact your Emergency Management Director. Zone Information

If an evacuation is ordered during school hours, children in public schools and licensed and registered childcare centers will most likely be taken to the nearest Reception Center. They will be processed for relocation to congregate care facilities. THey will be cared for by school and childcare personnel until thier parents or guardians arrive.

The wind direction and your locatin within your community will affect the evacuation that is recommended. Stay tuned to a local EAS radio station for special instructions for your area. While driving follow directins of police and other traffic officers. Take your time; instructions will be given in plento of time to allow you to evacuate safely.

• Take Route 142 or U.S. Route 5 north to Exit 1
• Proceed north on I-91 to exit 5
• Take Route 5 north

• Take Route 142 south to Route 10
• Take Route 10 south to I-91 South
• Take I-91 South to exit 26
• Take Route 2 west to Shelburne Falls
• Take Route 112 north to Route 100
• Take Route 100 north to Route 30 at East Jamaica
• Take Route 30 south towards Townsend
• Take Route 35 north towards Cambridge
• Take Route 121 east

• Follow town roads north or northeast
• Take Route 9 east to Exit 2 ... OR
  Take U.S. Route 5 north to Exit 1
• Take I-91 north to Exit 5
• Take U.S. Route 5 north

Alternate Route if wind is blowing from North or East

• Take town roads west through Halifax
• Take Route 112 north to Route 100
• Take Route 100 north to Route 30 at East Jamaica
• Take Route 30 south towards Townsend
• Take Route 35 north towards Cambridge
• Take Route 121 east

• Take any route to Exit 2 or 3
• Take I-91 north to Exit 5
• Take U.S. Route 5 north

• Proceed east to U.S. Route 5
• Take U.S. Route 5 north

• Take Route 9 to North Pond Rd
• Take North Pond Rd north into Williamsville
• Take Depot Rd east, becomes Route 30
• Take Route 30 towards Dummerston
• Take E W Road east
• Take U.S. Route 5 north

• Follow town roads north or northeast
• Take U.S. Route 5 ... OR
  Take Route 9 east to Exit 2
• Take I-91 north to Exit 5
• Take U.S. Route 5 north

• Take Route 112 north to Route 100

• Proceed via Route 119 east to Route 10 North
• Turn left onto Base Hill Road
• Proceed to West Street
• Turn right onto West Street
• Turn left onto Bradford Road
• Proceed to Arch Street, cross Arch Street into parking lot

• Proceed via Route 10 North (about 10 miles)
• Turn left onto Route 101 proceed for 1.5 miles
• Turn right onto Base Hill Road
• Proceed to West Street
• Turn right onto West Street
• Turn left onto Bradford Road
• Proceed to Arch Street, cross Arch Street into parking lot

• Proceed via Route 9 east toward Keene (about 10 miles)
• Turn left onto Base Hill Road
• Proceed to West Street.
• Turn right onto West Street

• Proceed to Arch Street, cross Arch Street into parking lot

• Proceed via Route 10 North
• Turn left onto Route 101
• Proceed to Base Hill Road
• Proceed to West Street

• Proceed to Route 32 North into Swanzey (about 12 miles)
• Bear left and continue North on Route 12 for 2 miles
• Turn left onto Route 101 proceed for 1.5 miles
• Turn right onto Base Hill Road
• Proceed to West Street
• Turn right onto West Street
• Turn left onto Bradford Road
• Proceed to Arch Street, cross Arch Street into parking lot

• Proceed via Route 10 west or Route 63 south
• Take I-91 south
• Take I-91 exit 26 to Route 2 west
• Take first right (Colrain Road)

• Proceed via Route 5 or 10 to I-91 south
• Take I-91 exit 26 to Route 2 west
• Take first right (Colrain Road)

• Proceed via Greenfield Road south
• becomes Leyden Road in Greenfield
• Follow Leyden Road to Nash’s Mill Road
• Turn right and proceed on Nash’s Mill Road to end
• Turn left onto Colrain Road, proceed south

• Follow Route 78 south to Route 2A
• west to Route 2 to I-91 south
• Take I-91 exit 26 to Route 2 west
• Take first right (Colrain Road)

• Follow local roads south to Route 2
• Take Route 2 west to I-91 south
• Take I-91 exit 26 to Route 2 west
• Take first right (Colrain Road)

If west of I-91

• Proceed via Barton Road west to end at Leyden Road
• Turn left and follow Leyden Road south
• Turn right onto Nash’s Mill Road and proceed to the end
• Turn left onto Colrain Road, proceed south

If east of I-91

• Proceed via Routes 5 and 10 south to Route 2
• Follow Route 2 west to I-91 south
• Take I-91 exit 26 to Route 2 west
• Take first right (Colrain Road)

• Proceed via Greenfield Road or Route 112 south
• Turn left onto Route 2
• Follow Route 2 east toward Greenfield
• At traffic light, turn left onto Colrain Road
